Mind Invasion

July 9, 2023

Truth is often less believable than fiction! Everyone has experienced having someone swear they know who you are and/or they claim to know what particular thoughts or motives you have. They are like ‘psychic invaders’ of your mind without paying more attention to their own mind that seems to know what’s in yours erroneously. The Jews have a word for that, ‘chutzpah’ or having the courage to go where there is a danger to go to. In this case, into another’s mind.

Interfering and imposing what another thinks or feels is like an invasive ‘mind surgery’ upon another or like a ‘verbal sucker punch’ initiated, especially when not asked for.  We all have a ‘sovereignty’, so to speak over our mind and heart and claiming otherwise is like a ‘home invasion’, and in those cases puts the victim in an uncomfortable defensive position of trying to explain and/or defend what they really think and feel.

‘Brain linking’ or synchronizing with another mind (and heart) is either an ‘art’ that naturally occurs when ‘on the same page’. It’s not an everyday experience to find someone who you feel great trust and compatibility with, at least to some extent. When two are deeply in love both with themselves, then with each other they are in a state of perpetual meditation with each other. Sadly, most connecting often reach a level too incompatible with each other, so typically one or both learns to ‘walk on eggshells’ carefully so as not to cause forms of dissatisfied reaction. This is common in marriages and partnerships where harmony is ‘managed’ (or marginalized) by omission of truths even to the point of lying, and in some cases ‘cheating’.

Best life is to live in consciousness with the rewards of loving your inner self, resulting in a clearer vision of the outer. We can be our own fools by fooling ourselves into not accepting the light within and instead putting up with the negative that we somehow came into adulthood with. and didn’t correct. Socrates famously said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Both psychoanalysts and philosophers are committed to examining and giving meaning to human experiences. By keeping a sense of wonder alive we are all engaged in thinking about how we might live and what makes life worth living. The ultimate loving life is an art to arrive at even if it needs reprogramming while letting go of negative attachments of the past. Having fun and enjoyment through life’s many challenges is to become an ‘artist of life’.
