When your inner truth is compromised, be it through greed, fear, naivety, or some form of compromise, the expression of ‘you’re selling your soul’, like the song sung years ago by singer Tennessee Ernie Ford in 1955, applies. The song began with these words:
‘’Some people say a man is made outta mud – A poor man’s made outta muscle and blood – Muscle and blood and skin and bones – A mind that’s a-weak and a back that’s strong. You load 16 tons, what do you get? – Another day older and deeper in debt – St. Peter, don’t you call me ’cause I can’t go – I owe my soul to the company store…’’
Compromising your inner truth of love of self involves loss of integrity and values of your life that are given up for an unnecessary fulfilling a ‘desire choice’ that harms others and yourself in the end, even if the selfish ego can’t see it. As an ex 20 year NYC corporate salesman, it occurred to me that Sociopaths occasionally open their hearts, but favor selling to you for their greed and not your best interest. You have likely been enabling these hypocrites to be very good at emotional propaganda to win while you walk away feeling you’ve let yourself be sold a ‘lemon’. A Psychopath lives without feelings, and automatically has sold their soul for personal benefit even if they have to pretend to care. Your loss doesn’t matter to them at all.
What’s going on is a ‘Trap’ and the so-called devil’s helpers are coming after you and me. Forget Jesus or any other ‘holy one’ to follow if you’re not clearing the brain’s garden of weeds of negative attachments. Walk in truth and honor. Then comes the good karma!
A positive, realistic existence is to accept your body as the temple of the soul, but also including the mind. This creates a harmony of the 3 rather than a skewered development of just one or even two while ignoring the harmony of the three. Like an orchestra, to be great there has to be harmony of all sounds as well as the collaboration of each, and with the conductor. We are always selling ourselves. Let it be to a more enlightened living as well as to others on a daily basis. Be in harmony with the three aspects mentioned, and seek that with another who is of the same cloth. Let love become in harmony so as to ‘sell’ itself while enriching others. The world needs to come into harmony with all as a civilization in tune with the higher choices of life. We are all potentially enlightened beings, but for not being stuck in the dark days of the soul.
