People need to deal with how they are with an attitude of learning the ‘skillful means’ to best cope with life, be it one who is ‘ethnically challenged, ugly, fat, deformed, child traumatized or whatever. It’s the best time in the world to deal with it without denying what the so-called ‘body temple’ is like. Just use the mind and heart with common sense to best deal with life. Give yourself permission to accept what is, and that any possible change takes time. Time is free! Be patient and look at everything as an opportunity. You are not alone in your dilemma’s.
Working too much is a ‘booby trap’ that sends personal developments down the ‘hatch’, and that includes a personal relationship especially. For the higher income chasers who are dedicated to prolonged hours and years of the pursuit of money, that lifestyle tightens and/or closes the door to the emotional, spiritual, inner developments that are human gifts for those who slow down and ‘see’ with ‘intent’. When I began living to support my lifestyle as I left my ‘30’s behind, I stopped on the day after Christmas in Manhattan while sitting on my 40th floor balcony overlooking magnificent Central Park. The financial market was sputtering, and business would require a few more years to recover. Those few more years would likely require hard work for a higher outer living lifestyle that because of the appeal of the monetary, and the energy required to support that, would leave little energy for valuing the natural gifts that automatically become more meaningless with obsessive material accumulation.
I got a strong insightful message for looking deeper into my management of reality which included knowing we all have so much time. To make it harder, I was happy with the upscale lifestyle of Manhattan. There are, as the saying goes, two roads to travel. The least traveled is the inner path of seeking a continued higher spiritual/conscious life. We have one opportunity in this lifetime with more than one choice of which way to go. That decision required changing directions from a cushy life of the ‘material’, or one that was risky but enriching of the heart path.
The mind and heart, with higher conscious intents for the importance of the ‘inner’, is noticeably more free to see, receive, and give back with gratitude for the miracle of being here, especially at this incredible time of free opportunities to seek the higher roads of travels within for giving back to life and godliness for this opportunity. Researchers the past few years have found that the sense of gratefulness not only has a profound impact on our overall health; it also helps in reducing depression, anxiety and in treating sleep disorders, it is a gift of prayerfulness.
