Arguing is Poison

March 12, 2023

Is your love on life support? Maybe your attitude is too? Having an affair with arguing is an affair with anger too. We can only walk through doors open to us, and the first door is the ‘door to your own conscious heart’.

As a Corporate Salesman in NYC for 20 years, I learned one thing early on, and that was to never argue with a customer or prospect, but hold the tongue while trying to understand their viewpoint. Be positive and creative in how to effectively communicate. In the ‘personal’ world
it might be easier to forget that, but it’s, nevertheless, a gift to remember in these times of extreme differences of viewpoints.

Joy is always a function of gratitude – and gratitude is always a function of perspective. God doesn’t argue. God dialogs. Your freedom of choice to ‘argue’ is an opportunity to see the futility of it as it hopefully becomes a
stronger harmony in sync with godliness. You may not believe in God because you cannot see God. God cannot be seen because God is the seer within you. He can’t become an object and your subjectivity as the one who sees. Wanting to see God is darkness because God is not there ‘outside you’. God is inside you. You look at me, god is looking at me. When I look at you, God is looking at you. God is always the seer, and the seer cannot be reduced to the seen. No one is God, but the vessel within
to be experienced.

Never ‘weaponize’ your words especially as an initiator of negative words directed at someone as they will often boomerang for you having to have started the foray. Be aware of the constipation of the heart and diarrhea of the mind. Argument is a struggle. In thinking, there is an inner struggle. Whatever you are thinking about, you are fighting with it; an inner struggle is going on. You line up all your past memories and all the past thoughts that go against it. If you are still defeated you accept, but
in that acceptance is a pain, a bite, a piercing thorn, is experienced.

I read of a fighter pilot who, when his plane was shot down over enemy territory was saved from a parachute -he needed many kinds of parachutes in addition to the physical one. He also needed his mental parachute, his emotional parachute, and his spiritual parachute for his life support. Heaven is a place on Earth, as well as one you carry on into endless times, but that openness needs to be open in all ways. Parachute to the openness of that heaven within.
