Cherry Pickin’ Religion

Selective picking of the ‘good points’ on anything/one may or may not support an intelligent analysis. I’m always reminded of two people falling in love who need first to find real love within themselves. Too often, many ‘warning signs’ to a questionable relationship are inherent with one or both thinking that they can look at the positives while hoping or covering the negatives disappear. Doesn’t work that way! An abuser, thief, molester, angry, irresponsible, trauma, etc.,. person doesn’t just change stripes, and without intense long focus isn’t going to.
I run into many Christians who can not be reached by anyway possible, I have used many, many strange ways, but their minds are so ‘robotized’ that NOTHING penetrates. I deeply feel many of these people are so deep into illusion that nothing will ever reach them. Although, going as deep as possible into love with another ALWAYS ERACES the ability to follow a religion seriously. However, few reach the peaks of that love that dissolves beliefs from all holy works.
When couples first meet there is a double cherry pickin’ that happens, and often the cherries turn to sour lemons. Each only wants to see the best in the other that later is often quite a gap from ‘reality’. To make it a ‘double smoothie’, each is putting out only their best ‘Sunday face mask’. When it comes time to drink that ‘cherry picked’ smoothie, there will be a radically different taste leaving each wondering what happened. Too much cherry picking to sweeten the moment that fades in time. Deep love though erases the mask revealing the light of divine love eternally.
‘Do gooders’ often use their efforts as a cover for what occasionally amounts to illegal or morally repugnant acts. The Priest who everyone loves, but who molests one child while cherry picking how wonderful ‘he is’ for his admirers while doing evil in ‘cherry picking’ a child is a monster. Professionals from politicians, doctors, dentists, lawyers, religion salesmen, etc. use their position of trust more often than we will ever know to do covert acts involving money, power, sexual favors, and all forms of manipulation. Additionally, all the media serves their ‘sponsors or advertisers’ in not printing or saying things that will jeopardize their flow of money.
As I write this, famous actor/comedienne, Bill Cosby is under media scrutinization for having multiple women claim he drugged them for sex. Millions will comment, ‘he seemed like such a nice guy’! Well, he was, but what you saw required ‘cherry pickin’ when you didn’t know you had to. The second free speech display board I did on the Venice, Ca. boardwalk had the title, ‘Nice People Suck’! More true than you would think!
Question, question, question! Be ‘aware’! Be discerning! Go deep! ‘Qui bono’ – ask who benefits, and whether they come from the heart with compassion for you. Cherry pickin’ is a scam from the truth as well as a bad habit that serves a non evolving entity or person for their benefit, and not yours! Truth is in the air – catch and breath it! Love is truth and truth is love!
