Spiritual Warrior
October 29, 2014
Don Quixote, from the famous play, ‘Man of La Mancha’, was an aging man on a quest to fulfill his dreams for his and all life. However, some part of his madness was exposed when he mounted his horse while in battle gear to fight the dragon … that was only a ‘windmill’. The real dragon that sleeps away life of the spirit is none other than you!
“All I know is that while I’m asleep, I’m never afraid, and I have no hopes, no struggles, no glories — and bless the man who invented sleep, a cloak over all human thought, food that drives away hunger, water that banishes thirst, fire that heats up cold, chill that moderates passion, and, finally, universal currency with which all things can be bought, weight and balance that brings the shepherd and the king, the fool and the wise, to the same level. There’s only one bad thing about sleep, as far as I’ve ever heard, and that is that it resembles death, since there’s very little difference between a sleeping man and a corpse” ? Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Don Quijote de La Mancha
The ‘spiritual warrior’ lies asleep in you while chasing material dreams and survival that amounts to windmills of shame and distraction from opening the spiritual warrior within. From his head to his toes and everything in between, the spiritual warrior embodies both his feminine and masculine sides to be a balanced awakened being of light. Focusing on two polar opposites like chasing the material while focused on the awakening conscious, spiritual, love or whatever you want to call it is nothing but missing the peaks of either. NO ONE does both! Impossible. It’s just logical reasoning that ‘blocks’ are ‘blocks’ (resistance). The pursuit of riches is a block if you want to reach the ‘depths’ of inner awareness. Attachment to ANY pursuit that involves commitment not in line with deep love, and hence energy, will pull from the focus on the inner qualities, not to mention being stuck with ‘habits’ contrary to a spiritual/love focus.
Gathering ‘knowledge’ has next to nothing to do with the higher inner pursuits which, if truth be know, are not even pursuits but just letting go of the ‘flotsam’ in the mind and heart. Until death, it is all life, and with life there is the opportunity to explode the light of love within where it shines consistently through all life’s trials and tribulations. The spiritual warrior rises above all life’s challenges while giving to those who are willing to receive. Quarreling with desires of the outer, verses the inner spiritual flight is to be treading the water rapids not knowing which way to go. The ‘spiritual warrior’ will march into hell for a heavenly cause! The ‘spiritual warrior’ is relentless in fighting, disconnecting, and putting to rest the windmill dragons of past negativities to clear the way for a continuing rise to the peaks of conscious love. Let love be your driver!
