Living in a tiny sheltered part of who you really are is to have submitted yourself to a ‘crawl space’ within yourself. A crawl space is essentially a hollow area found under some homes between the ground and the first floor. It’s usually roughly 1, 2, to 3 feet high—just high enough for someone to enter by crawling, as its name implies.
People sadly, mostly live from the ‘crawl space’ of the mind and heart. Income, breadcrumbs, ya gotta keep your head up and stop living in the negative swamps of the mind and lying to yourself. An early past, riddled with negative experiences, is an excuse that needs to be excused or let go of, and it’s easier than one might think. Cleaning up that which obstructs your going ahead with a positive life begins with the ‘intent’ to ‘just do it’. The ‘tools of how’ are all available and ‘free’ for the seeking. Part of the ‘reconditioning’ is to know yourself, and it’s you who are the best mechanic. When the student is ready, the ‘master will come’ in the form of an example of how you can be – happy, self fulfilled and self loving.
To ‘crawl out of the crawl space of self infliction within yourself’ will always have the help of the invisible forces that some call god, to give you direction if you keep your heart and mind open. The best teacher is ‘you’ as a student of awareness and discretion of the best of answers for every situation and the reflection on if it was. Also, seek the counsel of the wise who seem to have the answers for themselves.
Let go of all trouble from the many yesterdays and years that you’ve kept in your negative ‘crawl space’, and let there be music in your heart and in your soul. Life awaits your finding its soft spot where all you need is self love for your best self and the blessings for others to experience. Start by making the decision to make it the best part of your life even if it takes a bit of time to crawl out from under what suppresses our much better enjoyment part of life.
“Whether you believe in God or not does not matter so much, whether you believe in Buddha or not does not matter so much; as a Buddhist, whether you believe in reincarnation or not does not matter so much. You must lead a good life. And a good life does not mean just good food, good clothes, good shelter. These are not sufficient. A good motivation is what is needed: compassion, without dogmatism, without complicated philosophy: just an understanding that others are human brothers and sisters, and respecting their rights and human dignity.’’ -Dalai Lama. No one can save someone else, only you can save you!
