Childhood-itis

Everyone is born ‘tabula rasa’, or with a blank slate? On the surface it may seem so, but all inherit some of the qualities or liabilities of their parents and who knows how many generations it goes back? Some have a delightful childhood as I did growing up in the little logging town of Cosmopolis, Washington, many have childhood issues that can’t seem to be shaken off throughout adulthood. Everyone has liabilities either inherited or shortcomings due to circumstances compared to others, and of course those ‘others’ may have some of your assets as ‘shortcomings’.
Truth is, life is a stairway that you either climb for assets and qualities, or you linger and become forever attached to the inner irritants, or lack of advantages and benefits that you would like. Seems like everyone who I’ve met that shorts themselves in one way or another of self love has not sufficiently worked on rising above it, but accepted the inner entanglements as ‘just the way it is’, even sometimes hiding behind their successes as being confirmation that they need not do anything about their shortage of self love. Hiding behind drugs, alcohol, and any number of illusions is also an unconscious way to not deal with the real problem! YOU! Understanding is the booby prize of life, while ‘innerstanding’ is to find more and more reserves of love.
When people marry, for example, they pledge devotion through thick and thin, not realizing that when it’s bedtime they are sleeping with many entities of the past that are accepted as the ‘you’, but not letting go of to see the real shining ‘you’. Entities or unresolved memories and negative habits usually meet the others same, and the battle takes twists and turns to accommodate these ‘barnacles of resistance’ instead of willfully clearing the blocks to inner self love. It’s sad, but few will ever be able to see the difference between one with no obstructions, and the seeming invisible ones which cause mixed, often hurtful behaviors.
As one physically grows into adulthood, it’s mandatory for a life of inner love to clear all obstacles for it to thrive. You can take a chance on dealing with these invisible demons later as life goes on, but the blocks get higher and higher shutting out the light of the real you that you are entitled to travel around with. The future is not the past unless you nurture it consciously or unconsciously. You are not the body, but the soul and spirit within that walks among the giant godliness of the moment. Time is short, the journey can be long and fruitless, better hurry and enjoy the many ways and slowly open the heart for the rest of your life. With your heart open, the ‘rest of the story’ begins like you’d want it to be.
The unconscious life is just that-unconscious! You may not be aware that you are unaware of everything more meaningful. You just think about the basics of life – food, clothing, money, and attachment tA desires. Ask yourself, ‘for what purpose was I created?’ Each time you reflect on that you will pull back the veils hiding the positive answer.
