Duplicitousness
July 28, 2016
Question, question, question when it’s from any source, including your assumptions! The world of duplicitousness has always been here, but now with spiraling technology the negative ‘art(?)’ of saying one thing, and doing another is as common as rain in a hurricane. Surely, you know the ‘mafia’ will say one thing and mean or do another, but how about politicians, or even the spouse who leads a secret second life? Or, like a tenant who pays rent always, but is selling drugs on the side. Goodness often is a cover for ‘badness’ – one of the ‘character traits’ that confuses most people and allows ‘evil’ to continue.
‘Trust me’ need not be said by anyone who is beyond trust, like your loved one who is beyond needing verbal communication, and like the night that turns to day guaranteed. To be less than honest from the heart with compassion for whomever is involved is to be peeking into the craftiness of duplicitousness. One lie often requires another to cover up the original lie, and then another one to cover up the 2nd lie. Living life ‘straight and honest’ works especially when the ‘receiver’ is open to the truth. Consensual agreements are about truth.
To be one thing or way, and to do another non transparently is to be dishonest or duplicitous. Recently, the Washington Post highlighted a new study that puts “medical errors” as the 3rd leading cause of death in America. There hasn’t been any significant follow-up. There hasn’t been an explosion of outrage. So even when exposure occurs, the brainwashing factor is so strong it makes no difference. It’s just another ho-hum day in the news business.
That’s mind control par excellence! That’s a tremendous protection of criminals. Duplicitous? One of infinite examples that are hidden in plain sight.
Hypnosis is someone else dreaming for you. You accept a substitute. That’s mind control. That’s believing you can live in someone else’s creation forever… it’s a form of duplicitousness. Ignorance, especially given the readily available means to be informed is ‘self mind control’ or ‘self duplicitousness’.
Duplicitousness is at least disingenuousness! However, what to make of this? Read the other day that a singer named Marni Nixon in NY died at 86. A famous voice but few knew her as she dubbed her voice for stars like Natalie Wood (West Side Story), Audrey Hepburn (My Fair Lady), etc. The point being, not all duplicitousness is bad…maybe a little disingenuous, but serving a good purpose.
The world is filled with snake oil salesmen, and more than ever in all forms. Be aware, question, use common sense, be open, be in your heart, and discerning. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to be wrong – everyone is at times!
